As a Content Editor, you will play a key role in developing and refining content that is theologically sound, educationally engaging, and aligned with organizational values. This position involves leading substantive editorial work across multiple formats, including print, digital, and multimedia resources, while collaborating with writers, ministry leaders, and internal teams. You will shape Bible study materials, contribute original content, and provide guidance to ensure clarity, instructional design, and audience alignment. The role requires strong editorial judgment, advanced content creation skills, and the ability to coach contributors effectively. Working in a remote environment with occasional travel, you will have broad responsibility to influence content quality and engagement across projects that serve church communities.

Accountabilities:

  • Lead substantive editing to ensure theological accuracy, biblical fidelity, and alignment with core doctrinal standards
  • Develop original content, structured outlines, and Bible study resources for diverse formats
  • Edit and refine manuscripts for clarity, tone, instructional design, and consistency across print, digital, and multimedia channels
  • Collaborate with writers, ministry leaders, and cross-functional teams to produce engaging, biblically sound content
  • Provide coaching and constructive feedback to contributors to maintain quality and alignment with objectives
  • Participate in content planning, research for accuracy, and podcast or multimedia initiatives
  • Support process improvements, team goals, and ongoing training for editors and writers
  • Requirements:

  • Master’s degree in theology, Christian education, or a related field
  • 6+ years of editorial or content development experience in ministry-focused or educational settings
  • 5+ years of ministry-related experience (church staff, teaching, denominational involvement, or similar)
  • Demonstrated ability to lead substantive editorial revisions and ensure theological fidelity
  • Strong proficiency in original content creation, manuscript editing, and instructional design adaptation
  • Excellent collaboration, author coaching, and relationship-building skills
  • Advanced verbal and written communication, including navigating theological discussions with clarity and grace
  • Proficiency with digital publishing tools, style standards, and content production workflows
  • Experience mentoring or training junior editors or contributors
  • Ability to travel 2–4 times per year for team meetings or events
