The Duty Drawback Specialist manages all aspects of the Siemens Energy Inc. Duty Drawback program, including collecting and auditing required data and documentation, collaborating cross-functionally with multiple stakeholders, Customs Operations, and Customs Drawback Broker, supporting responses of CBP inquiries and desk reviews, and driving process improvements and digitalization initiatives to improve compliance and recoveries.
How You'll Make an Impact - Coordinate, maintain and execute the drawback program in compliance with Customs regulations, including collection and auditing of all import, production, manufacturing and export data and documentation prior to claim submissions.
- Directing the workload of duty drawback broker ensuring timely submission of claims, monitoring receipt and distribution of refunds and liquidation of drawback claims.
- Reviewing Siemens Energy Inc., businesses import and export activity to ensure refund opportunities are maximized and driving process improvement in collaboration with Manufacturing, Accounting and Finance to maximize refunds on manufactured equipment.
- Coordinating with the Siemens Energy Inc., businesses, Customs Regulatory and duty drawback broker for the timely review and response of Drawback Desk Reviews/CF28's.
- Maintenance of manufacturing rulings, preparation and submission of rulings for new manufacturing activity, and monitoring of drawback bond sufficiency.
- Maintaining and developing drawback standard operating procedures current and providing training and awareness to all internal stakeholders.
What You Bring - High School Diploma. 3+ years experience handling U.S. Customs Duty Drawback claims, preferably manufacturing drawback.
- Knowledge of CFR 15 and 19, and Drawback Regulations. Licensed Customs Broker or Certified Customs Specialist is a plus!
- Experience with ERPs, preferably SAP, and Global Trade management software.
- Collaborate with a team and works well independently, with an organized disciplined approach. Strong written and verbal communication skills, with ability to work cross-functionally and with cross-cultural teams located in different time zones!
- Applicants must be legally authorized for employment in the United States without need for current or future employer-sponsored work authorization. Siemens Energy employees with current visa sponsorship may be eligible for internal transfers.
