Overview:
We are looking for a detail-oriented Underwriting Assistant to support our Underwriting Department. This role plays a key part in maintaining our team's productivity and ensuring compliance with state-mandated guidelines. You'll also be the friendly face of our company when interacting with agents and policyholders, providing excellent customer service and helping to keep our operations running smoothly.

Key Responsibilities:

Deliver exceptional customer service by responding promptly to inquiries from agents and policyholders about quotes, endorsements, and renewals.
Develop a foundational understanding of insurance coverages, exposures, rating plans, and state requirements.
Accurately enter new business policies, endorsements, and renewals into our system.
Order and organize reports and other necessary information to support the underwriting process.
Assist the Underwriting team with tasks related to new business, endorsements, and renewals.
Contribute to special projects as assigned.
Prepare and mail system-generated documents.
Complete Financial Responsibility Filings.
Qualifications:

Required:

Prior experience in customer service.
Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
Ability to pass state-required examinations to become a licensed Property and Casualty Agent.
Proficient typing/data entry skills (minimum 30 wpm).
Preferred:

College degree or related industry experience.
Property and Casualty Agency license.
Familiarity with online underwriting systems.
