Financial Aid Coordinator/Assistant Women's Basketball Coach Arizona Western College is seeking a dedicated Financial Aid Coordinator/Assistant Women's Basketball Coach to empower our students and athletes. This unique role combines the responsibilities of guiding students through financial aid opportunities and coaching our women's basketball team to achieve their full potential. Salary: $41,322 - 43,801 per year, depending on experience. Plus, excellent fringe benefits.
Summary of Function: Coordinate and maintain the Financial Aid process for all student athletes to include awarding, SAP process, and FA workshops. Assist Head Women's Basketball Coach to plan & coordinate intercollegiate women's basketball program, including recruiting and scheduling. In cooperation with all head coaches at Arizona Western College, the Coordinator would ensure and coordinate the Financial Aid process for all returning and incoming athletes/students.
Typical Duties: - Serves students. Coordinate the (FAFSA) Free Application for Federal Student Aid Submission/Renewal for returning and newly arriving students. Maintain compliance with Federal guidelines. Serve as front counter backup.
- Coordinate the verification process as regulated by the Department of Education. Collect, review, and verify student/parent documentation submitted for financial aid file ensuring compliance and authenticity. Submit corrections as appropriate to federal processor. Ensure financial aid files for students are completed for auto-packaging..
- Award all athletic scholarships in Colleague.
- Maintain and monitor Satisfactory Academic Progress for scholarship guidelines.
- Assist/support in coordinating Financial Aid/FAFSA Workshops for students.
- Assist the head coach in overall coaching and game implementation. Lead, monitor, and coordinate training, strength & conditioning, and practice sessions, ensuring that all appropriate safety guidelines and standards are maintained.
- Assist in the identification and recruitment of potential student-athletes for the women's basketball program, in accordance with NJCAA rules, regulations, guidelines, and standards.
- Provide guidance and assistance to student-athletes on a range of personal and academic issues, as required including monitoring student athlete behavior, development of student athlete individual educational plans, and monitoring student academic progress and support
- Represent the sports program to various institutional programs, external community organizations, agencies, funding organizations, students, parents, and to the general public.
- Supports and participate in strategic initiatives and performs other duties as assigned
Required Qualifications: - Master's degree from an accredited institution of higher learning and one year of coaching experience
- OR
- Bachelor's degree from a recognized institution of higher learning and two years of coaching and/or playing basketball or a related sport
- OR
- An equivalent combination of education and/or experience from which comparable knowledge, skills, and abilities have been achieved may be considered
Additional Eligibility Requirements: Classification: Position Type & Work Schedule: - Full-time, 12-month position
- 8:00 am - 6:00 pm Monday-Thursday
- Fridays, evenings, and weekends as needed

Work Environment: - Indoor, office environment with normal noise and lighting levels
- Various indoor and/or outdoor environments to support program practice, training, game or community events
- Subject to various noise levels
- Working environment may include various locations, indoor and/or outdoor, as needed to support program, department and/or institutional needs
Physical Demands: - Frequently required to stand, walk, and negotiate practice or game environment
- Prolonged periods sitting to support program, department, or institutional needs
- May lift, carry, push, and/or pull, at times a minimum of 25 pounds
Travel: - Required to travel to other locations using various modes of private, commercial, or fleet transportation, and as needed to support program, department and/or institutional needs
- Required to travel with the team and attend program related games, functions and/or activities
