This position will assist with research efforts in our food ingredients division with an emphasis on applications research in bakery, beverage, dairy, and meat products.
Location: St. Louis, MO
Semester Offered: Spring/Summer or Summer/Fall 2026 (This is a co-op opportunity that will require you to work 40 hours/week during the day. Students typically take a full semester off from school or enroll in a reduced online or nightclass schedule during the length of their co-op.)
Pay Rate: $32.50/hour
I'm interested! What will I get to do in this position?
Assist in research and applications work for food applications (bakery, beverage, dairy, and meat) containing various functional ingredients
Conduct data analysis and provide interpretation, draw conclusions from a variety of microbiological, chemical and physical tests
Conduct basic analytical testing (pH, Texture Analysis, water activity, moisture, viscosity, etc.) to support product development work
Maintains the lab operations: maintains inventory records and other relevant performance data and keeps lab areas and equipment calibrated, clean and operational
Participate in site safety activities
What skills and experience do I need to be successful in this role?
Pursuing a B.S. degree in Food Science or Chemistry related
Completed sophomore year in college or recent graduate (December 2025 graduate to start in January 2026 or May 2026 to start in May 2026)
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to effectively interact with all levels of the organization
Strong focus on data collection and documentation
Ability to set priorities, manage multiple projects and demonstrate strong attention to detail
Highly motivated and eager to learn
Strong computer skills
