We’re hiring a Temp to Hire CAD Artist – Junior & Young Contemporary Apparel to join a fast-paced apparel team in Los Angeles.

This role supports multiple divisions including kids, juniors, women’s, and occasional boys/men’s, and is ideal for someone with strong private label apparel CAD experience , especially for large national retailers.

Position Details

Role: CAD Artist – Junior & Young Contemporary Apparel

Location: Los Angeles, CA (Fully Onsite)

Employment Type: Full-Time Direct Hire (Open to Temp-to-Hire)

Compensation: $60,000–$75,000 annually, depending on experience

Hourly (Temp): $25–30/hour

About the Role

The CAD Artist will be responsible for creating original artwork, repeats, and colorways for junior and young contemporary programs. The role works closely with Design and Sales to deliver production-ready CADs aligned with retailer aesthetic, price point, and calendar.

Key Responsibilities

• Create CAD layouts, all-over prints, and graphics for apparel programs
• Develop colorways, repeat patterns, and artwork presentations for private label accounts
• Translate trend direction and line plans into production-ready CADs
• Prepare clean artwork files and layouts for overseas factories
• Update CADs quickly based on buyer feedback and sample comments
• Maintain organized digital artwork libraries and color archives
• Support development across multiple divisions and fast-paced calendars

Qualifications

• Prior experience as a CAD Artist or Textile/Print Designer in apparel
• Private label experience strongly preferred; big-box retailer experience a plus
• Advanced proficiency in Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator
• Strong eye for color, print, and junior trend direction
• Comfortable managing multiple seasons and deliveries simultaneously
• Detail-oriented with strong communication and collaboration skills
