Description

The Manager of Events and Live Journalism will play a crucial role in executing Front Office Sports’ expanding slate of in-person and virtual events. Reporting to the Director of Events and Live Journalism, you will support the larger event team with the planning and execution of 10+ events annually along with a robust awards program. 

In this role, you will contribute to developing and maintaining our annual events strategy and integrated marketing plans. This role will require you to work cross-functionally with all internal departments, including Creative Strategy, Integrated Marketing, Brand Partnerships, Account Management, Audience & Growth, and Editorial Operations. Additionally, you will play a key role in managing external stakeholders including speakers, guests, vendors, and agency partners. 

We are seeking a highly organized and motivated individual with an entrepreneurial spirit and the ability to manage multiple events simultaneously. This person must be willing to travel and support on-the-ground event execution ground as needed. 

Key Responsibilities
  • Support all FOS virtual and in-person events
  • Develop, manage, and maintain all event trackers, status documents, and marketing plans
  • Collaborate with and project manage event assets with a creative team including logos, signage, PR materials, social graphics, etc. 
  • Build event briefs for both internal departments and external stakeholders/vendors
  • Collaborate with the Director of Events and Live Journalism to develop a comprehensive annual event strategy, identifying where, when, why, with who, and how we show up
  • Strategically reporting and reviewing marketing strategies to optimize efforts 
  • Main front-of-house contact - responsible for communication with guests, attendees, and award submitters 
  • Ability to uniquely develop marketing copy to support FOS’ wide variety of programs
  • Work with cross-functional teams to develop integrated marketing plans that drive awareness and audience for the FOS brand and our partners
  • Effectively communicate with internal and external clients including but not limited to speakers, guests, vendors, clients
Skills, Knowledge & Expertise
  • 5+ years of experience in events or experiential marketing capacity 
  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, business, or a related field 
  • Familiarity with event management programs– experience with creative software (Canva, Figma), WordPress, and email marketing programs is a plus 
  • A proven track record of working with and managing external partners and vendors
  • High attention to detail and strong project management skills
  • Team player, this role will cross-collaborate with internal teams daily 
  • An organized multi-tasker that can work on a variety of projects at the same time in a fast-paced environment
  • A strategic thinker and a logical executor 
  • A calm problem solver, with the ability to adapt to ever-changing situations and provide solutions
