Mission The Revenue Authority of Prince George's County is a quasi-governmental entity that serves as a real estate development and development finance agency, an operator of programs and facilities, and a manager of programs and facilities in partnership with other County agencies.
Position Summary The Parking Enforcement Supervisor is authorized to undertake parking enforcement activities on behalf of the Revenue Authority of Prince George's County under the direction of management. The Supervisor is to provide oversight of the Parking Enforcement Officers on the overnight shift and to patrol designate areas and beats within Prince George's County and to issue parking violations notices to the owner/operator of vehicles parked in violation of the Prince George's County Code.
Responsibilities
Shift Requirement Monday to Friday, 10:00pm to 6:00am (overnight)
Team Supervision - Exercises supervisory duties and responsibilities in accordance with established personnel policies and procedures.
- Adjusts employee schedules and assignments to reflect daily staffing and special assignments and arranges for additional coverage.
- Notifies management of operational matters.
- Ensures proper forms/documentation are available for staff usage.
- Ensures that equipment to include cell phones are functioning and available for usage.
- Ensures that timekeeping processes are followed.
- Regularly attends National Harbor meetings and to ensure that their management team has a direct point of contact.
Patrolling - Patrols designated parking areas thoroughly and diligently for purposes of monitoring, regulating and controlling parking.
- Ensures that vehicle usage is performed in a safe and defensive manner.
Citation Administration and Follow-Up - Cites violations of the Prince George's County Code to vehicles found to be parked in violation of applicable regulations.
- Appears in court if citations are contested
Equipment Checks and Maintenance - Serves as the first line of notification when equipment at facilities designed for parking are in an unsafe condition or not in full and complete working order.
- Performs simple vehicle maintenance procedures, such as checking oil and gas, and reports mechanical problems to management.
- Ensures vehicles are clean inside and outside.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities - Ability to assign, supervise, review and evaluate the work of others.
- Ability to train others in work procedures.
- Ability to evaluate work routes, workload and procedures and recommend effective alternatives.
- Ability to interact tactfully and effectively with those encountered in the course of the work, including hostile and irate citizens.
- Use sound independent judgment within established guidelines
- Ability to use computerized equipment.
- Ability to effectively communicate both in written and verbal form in English.
- Ability to read, interpret, apply, explain and enforce laws, codes and ordinances governing the parking of motor vehicles in Prince George's County.
- Ability to exercise sound judgment within established guidelines and supervisory direction.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with staff, public and other governmental agencies.
- Ability to analyze situations and determine appropriate course of action.
- Ability to prepare and maintain clear, concise and accurate documentation.
- Ability to work a set schedule or rotating days based on status - Full-time, Part-time.
Minimum Qualifications - High school diploma or GED.
- Two (2) years of responsible supervisory experience or an equivalent combination of education, training or experience.
- Possession of a valid motor vehicle driver's license for at least 5 (five) years; must be able to pass a background investigation.
Work Environment Work is performed in an outdoors environment. The employee frequently works in outdoor weather conditions in or near moving and/or heavy traffic. The incumbent is regularly exposed to fumes or airborne particles and loud or prolonged noise levels and occasionally works near moving mechanical parts.

Physical Requirements - This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, telephones, photocopiers and fax machines.
- This position largely requires a person to drive and walk for long periods of time (up to 8 hours per day).
- Basic writing and penmanship skills needed to write citations.
- Must be able to walk and drive in a major metropolitan area.
- Must be able to read maps.
- Continual use of manual dexterity and gross and fine motor skills.
- Must be able to operate a motor vehicle.
- Frequent stooping, bending, crouching, standing and reaching.
- Ability to lift and carry object of at least 35 pounds.
Travel Requirements Travel is required.
