divh2Patient Care Technician/h2pThe Patient Care Technician, working under the direct supervision of Registered Nurse, is primarily responsible for providing direct, non-invasive bedside care to patients. This position must integrate company values into daily practice./ppstrongEssential Functions/strong/pulliPrioritizes and delivers basic patient care, including bathing, toileting, feeding, grooming, etc. Performs and documents vital signs, measures and records intake and output, weights, specimen collections, etc. Transfers patients utilizing proper body mechanics and safe patient handling techniques./liliReports any changes observed in condition or behavior of patient to appropriate nursing personnel./liliAssists in preparing unit, patient rooms, and patient beds for receiving patient admissions. Maintains bed and room in a clean, neat, safe, and comfortable manner. Removes supplies and equipment not in use; placing furnishings and equipment out of the path in order to provide a safe, neat, and organized area./liliAdheres to patient rounding expectations and standards./liliAssists in maintaining a physical, social, and psychological environment conducive to providing maximal patient comfort and optimizing healing./liliPromptly and appropriately responds to patient and family calls and requests./liliAppropriately designates applicable charges to individual patients using hospitals established system./liliProvides an environment conducive to safety for patients, visitors, and staff. Assesses environmental risks for safety and implements appropriate precautions. Complies with appropriate and approved safety and Infection Prevention standards./liliMaintains regular attendance in keeping with assigned work schedule./liliPerforms other duties as assigned to support overall effectiveness of the organization./li/ulpstrongMinimum Job Requirements/strong iMinimum Education Experience/i/pulliHigh school diploma or GED equivalent./lili2 years of experience in inpatient hospital setting preferred./li/ulpiRequired Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities/i/pulliKnowledge of current clinical operations and procedures./liliDemonstrates knowledge of appropriate Infection Prevention and proper body mechanics./liliDemonstrates general computer skills including data entry, word processing, email, and records management./liliDemonstrates critical thinking skills./li/ul/div
