Job Description

Photography Assistants help photographers setup, execute, and move photoshoots in the studio and on location. Photo Assistants must be passionate about photography and willing to learn. Assisting the Art and Prop departments is also necessary. Responsibilities include:

• Setup and teardown of photography sets. This includes lighting equipment, camera equipment, and photography props.
• Fill in for photographers on shoot days.
• Organize studio bays before and after each shoot.
• Assist Photographers / Prop Stylists / Art Directors during the day.

Essential Job Functions | Accountabilities, Actions and Expected Measurable Results
50% - Setup / Teardown of Photography Sets
35% - Assisting Photographers / Studio Organization
15% - Commercial Photography

Minimum Qualifications and Job Requirements | All must be met to be considered.

Education:
Photography Degree - Experience and Portfolio may be considered in lieu of degree.

Experience:
Internship in photography or previous experience assisting photographers is a plus.

Specific Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

• Excellent communication and listening skills.
• Must be a self starter, have good organizational skills, and be willing to work flexible hours.
• Must have a positive attitude and be willing to take direction from others.
• Must be able to lift and move heavy objects such as C-stands or surfaces.
• Must be able to use Capture One and Photoshop efficiently.

% Travel Required (Approximate): 5%
