Description General Responsibilities: Provide backup and support to all feed mill manufacturing positions in the feed mill. Essential Job Functions: Maintain the housekeeping / general appearance of the facility and equipment.Operate feed milling equipment as needed to keep finished feed available for deliveries.Able to cover for either shift on short notice.Complete processes to coordinate smaller quantity batching ingredients that are used in various feed rations within our system. This includes recordkeeping, monitoring and refilling the related small bins.Operate a fork truck to receive and move materials as needed throughout the facility. Must follow safety and bio-security rules specific to working in our feed operations.Monitor equipment to ensure it is in good working order, participate in the overall maintenance of the facility and equipment - notify management of any necessary repairs or possible equipment concerns.Must be able to effectively communicate with and work with co-workers and manager.Be willing to perform other duties assigned by management.Able to backfill all manufacturing positions within the mill on either shift.Able to balance, climb ladders, stoop, kneel, squat or crouch as needed.Able to reach and work with hands and arms with force.Able to work safely, near moving mechanical parts and equipment, fumes and airborne grain particles. Working Conditions:During summer months outside temperatures can be over 100 degrees for the entire workday.During winter months outside temperatures can be below zero degrees for the entire workday.During and after heavy rains facilities and roads can be extremely muddy, snow covered, icy and difficult to maneuver on.During some job duties the noise level can become very loud (earplugs are provided).Normal duties will expose the individual to odors, dusts, and gases that may be uncomfortable or hazardous, if proper procedures are not followed.May possibly be exposed to procedures that cause contact with hazardous materials.This position does not have an application deadline.
